Stripe Set-up

Instructions for setting up Stripe:

Things you will need to set up Stripe:
  • Organizations Bank Account information
  • Organizations EIN Number
  • Your Cell Phone to receive a verification code for security
After filling out some basic information you will come to a screen that will inform you your account is secure- download and save this information somewhere safe.

Make sure to choose Nonprofit Organization in the dropdown menu!

Make sure that the Name of your Organization matches exactly to your IRS filing and EIN number.

Often times Organizations don’t have a physical address, not to worry- Stripe allows you to use a home address. It’s best to use a an active board member such as the President or Treasurer.​

When you get to the tab asking for you to choose your industry you will want to pick Membership Organizations. A second drop down will appear under memberships and you will want to pick the appropriate option for your organization. ding Text Here

When you get to the Fulfillment Details page you are going to want to pick all that apply, but when you get to the bottom where is says “When do your customers make their payments?” you will want to pick the middle option since they are making a donation and the transaction is immediate!

Next you will connect your bank account. If your bank is not listed don’t worry- you can still complete this step manually. Both are equally safe. This allows all donations to be immediately deposited to your account so that you do not need to wait for funds to be distributed!

This is a quick and safe process!

 

You can choose a quick and easy description so that your supporters can easily identify their donations on the credit card statements

You’re almost done! You will be directed to submit and it only takes a few minutes for stripe to verify and activate your account!

In the meantime, you will be brought back to your organization’s dashboard on UncommonGood.
